I really liked this movie it was sad to watch all these people die though. In this movie they stated a lot of true things like how many people know about this disease and they still don't do anything to help people. Most people stereo-type the kind of people who have this disease like they say only Africans and gays get this disease, which this is not true because people all over the world have it is not just certain people who can have it. Most people get it from having unsafe sex. In India if you are a women with aids you are considered nothing. It is proven that it is much easier for women to get aids then men. Another way aids is spread is by people who use injecting drugs like heroine.

Aids are a very common thing; they spread though sex and drugs. The virus can travel from a mother to the baby if the mom had Aids. There is no cure, however there is medication that can keep you alive for a while. It kills millions of people, because no one can pay for the medication. Aids have been getting worse and spreading all over the world.

I think it’s a horrible thing that one disease is taking the lives of millions around the world. The worst part of it is that it is a preventable disease, and all of the people suffering from AIDS really shouldn’t be. A large percentage of the people with AIDS are women, especially in countries were women have no power. Governments around the world are doing close to nothing fight AIDS, and some even turn away and try to believe that it doesn’t exist. It’s one of those things that just doesn’t make sense.

This movie tells us about the global epidemic called HIV, or (the final stage of HIV) AIDS. It provided us some of the horrifying facts. For example, every 8 seconds one person die from AIDS. A lot of shocking and depressing stuff. HIV is a huge issue not only for the developing world, but the whole world. The worst thing about it people who are infected just can't get treatment because of poverty.

We watched a movie in global issues called A closer walk. The movie was talking about aids. Aids had started first in South America. Native Americans had started it they said. There's over thousands of people around the world that have aids. People can get aids by sharing needles, its sexually transmitted. People die from aids. There isn't a cure but there is a treatment to just extend your life a little bit longer. People when they have aids they get looked at differently and treated differently. They would go to a store and the store people would refuse to serve them. People were talking about how they got treated in the movie. How they have had to live there lives. The struggles they had to go through. People were out trying to prevent aids from get transmitted to others, by giving them there own needles and condoms.

Tuesday we watched a film about how AIDS affects people in Africa and in America. I found it very interesting. I really never knew anything about aids until I watched the movie. It was sad in the beginning because they showed a little girl dying of aids. In the movie they talked about a girl named Olivia who grew up in Africa then went to America to tell her story. She later found out that she was tested positive for aids. She already lost her mom to this disease and now she was dying of it. After she died, I felt bad mainly because she didn’t do anything bad in her life but was still hurt.
